Had it been we were sent this ODL template, am sure we could have done a lot by now, but anyway, I will do whatever I can manage to do within this short period.

After this workshop, definitely there is great need to have some sort of “mini workshops” for respective programs under RUFORUM in order to develop the whole material for e-learning, and such miniworkshops definitely will need some sort of funding, but the question is “ who is going to fund such workshops for the high quality output of the e-content?”

ADDRESSING THE CHALLENGES FOR THE E-CONTENT DEVELOPMENT

Personally, I don’t think there are obstacles that cant be overcome as long as incentives will be there for the energy and effort I will put in the work. I know RUFORUM will benefit in this whole exercise by having high quality material on the web for the courses taught in their respective programs, but developers of such content must also be honoured in a special way for their energy. So all I see in this is the need for an “energizer” and everything is DOABLE. Of course as a developer, I may expect “long term” benefits such as getting my name recognized worldwide, but still some sort of immediate benefits are very crucial for the process to be a success. Remember “African brotherhood” adage, “scratch my back and I will scratch yours”.
